Three Belts 세 가지 벨트

Three Belts is a work that began with questioning how technological image and computer vision are originally created. Throughout the observation, it became undeniable to the aritst, that the whole process of creating images to viewing images still demands physical human-labor equivalents to any other process of manufacturing production. The video shows interviews of workers, staffs and researchers - yet all these definitions are indistinguishable - from different fields of industry involved in this technology in a loop, which reveal the movements of people hidden behind the screen and image.
<세 가지 벨트>는 기술적 이미지와 시각이 본래 어떠한 과정을 통해 만들어지는지에 대한 궁금증으로 시작한 작업이다. 이 과정을 관찰하면서 이미지를 생산하는 단계에서부터 이미지를 바라보는 일 또한 육체적 노동이 부과되며, 새로이 구성되는 이미지와 시각은 여타 다른 상품과 다름없는 인고의 제작과정이 필요로 한다는 사실을 부정할 수 없게 되었다. 영상에서 각기 다른 분야의 산업 현장의 (달라 보이지만 결국 같은 의미인 것 같은) 노동자, 근로자, 그리고 전문가들의 인터뷰가 순차적으로 나열된다. 이미지를 보여주거나 도리어 우리를 바라보려는 이 스크린의 앞과 뒤, 그리고 그 안에 드러나지 않는 사람들의 움직임에 주목한다.
